They were all giants of the sport. My life was changed forever through their stories and their reported love of the dogs and fields, the guns and the birds. Without hunting I never would have met some of the finest people I’ve ever known. Thanks for the memories, Doc.
Thanks for posting some nice pics. I am re-reading the books by Bob Wehle right now. Really feel like he was the master of selection and breeding of pointing dogs. Wish his Elhew lines were still true to type. Seems like his prophecy that the lines would digress in 2-3 generations were spot on. His “Wing & Shot” book has guided me greatly in my bird dog breeding program. Sorry for the rant. Love checking your blog often. Keep it up.
