Spent four glorious days in northern Colorado this past weekend chasing grouse with bird dogs. Bret…my partner in cahoots…traveled from McPherson Kansas with four setters and the fixings for a mystical weekend in God’s grouse country. Grouse we did find…including Bret’s first sage grouse and my first Colorado mountain sharptailed grouse. Here are some images from grouse camp…setter feathers…
I gotta get out to Northern Colorado? Was this public land? Great photos.
Thanks for the note huntbirdz. We had a great hunt…& yes, all of my hunting is on public lands.
Hey birddogdoc, I’m really interested in that truck cap that you have. Any way you could post some pics and info on how you fabricated it? Great pics by the way.
Jon…that’s for the note. Not sure which truck cap you’re talking about? The pointer on the bumper pull cap? I got that from Sportsman’s Warehouse
Birddogdoc, sorry I mean the truck that has a fella sitting on the tailgate in a few of the pics, it appears to have built-in dog boxes. Looks like a really cool custom job. Just curious. Thanks
Jon…that belongs to my friend from Kansas. I believe his school custom made that in their shop. He’s a principal of a high school. It’s a pretty nifty set up.
Very nice. Enjoyed the story and the pics. Can I ask generally where you’re hunting? I’ve lived in CO for a long time, put a couple days in each year looking for blues or ptarmigan but not much luck. I’d love to find real bird hunting in CO. Thanks.
