>Eternity to Rest…

>

Many a respectable person has been brought spiraling downward not by fame, fortune, greed or members of the opposite sex…but by a double smooth bore, setterdogs and wild birds in wild places.

Chukars in particular. They are burned into my mental retina for eternity.

I long for Indian Summer October days…when the frost triggers the plant auxins to produce vibrant reds and golds…in Southern Idaho chasing echos off rim rocks on talus covered slopes! As the French philosopher/theologian Antoine Arnauld declared, “Rest, rest, shall I have not all eternity to rest.”

October with setters and chukars…

    >Terrific photo essay, Shawn. I'm out of breath just sitting here looking at the pictures. The Cold Duck herself sends an approving Quack 😉

    >I believe there is an ancient biblical proverb that: "There is no rest for the wicked!" I wonder if crazy chukar hunters fall into that category . . . well, maybe, but only if they hunt on Sundays. Those demonic birds with their siren calls will bring you down! Andy
